Kristen A. Shaffer, Attorney and Vice President at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, was recently appointed as President of the Iowa State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division.The Young Lawyers Division is part of the Iowa State Bar Association and is comprised of members of the Bar that have not yet attained 36 years of age and those that are older than 36 but have been practicing law for 10 years or less. Their goal is to stimulate and cultivate the interest of new lawyers both in the profession and in their communities. They are focused on issues such as law school transparency, legal education debt reform,. diversity and inclusion within the Iowa legal field, and also tackle issues such as parental leave for lawyers.As part of Shuttleworth, Kristen’s practice primarily focuses on Family Law, Litigation and Mediation. Prior to joining Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, Kristen served as a staff attorney at Kids First Law Center where she provided legal representation to clients in high-conflict family law cases and lead workshops for children of divorce.
