Shuttleworth & Ingersoll Attorneys Bill Daly and Jason Sytsma led round table discussions at “Iowa Connect: Medical Technology Symposium 2017 (MedTech),” an event hosted by UIVentures on Tuesday, June 18, 2017. MedTech is designed to focus on the challenges of developing university research-based medical products. Daly facilitated a round table session on the topic of compensating early employees and advisors. Sytsma led two round table sessions: the first focused on the topic of developing a strategy for protecting intellectual property; the second was on non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and confidentiality, including how to protect your company while networking.Daly and Sytsma together serve as co-chairs of the firm’s Startups and Innovators practice group, a team of attorneys formed to leverage the collective expertise necessary to work quickly and in a flexible manner to serve startups and entrepreneurs.In addition to leading discussion for the round table sessions, Shuttleworth & Ingersoll was proud to sponsor the event.About UIVenturesThe UIVentures program assists university inventors in creating new ventures based on their research.
