Eastern Iowa HR Professionals Invited to Labor and Employment Law Seminar

Human resources professionals and business owners from all over Eastern Iowa will gather to discuss common legal issues affecting local businesses at the 2017 Labor and Employment Law Seminar, a free half-day event hosted by the law firm Shuttleworth & Ingersoll the morning of Friday, November 17, 2017, at Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids. Terri Davis is an attorney and chair of the Labor and Employment Law practice group at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll who organizes the event. “We plan our schedule for this seminar based on the common challenges and best practices we see working closely with our clients, as well as changes to local, state, and national laws that may have an impact on businesses in Eastern Iowa,” said Davis. While the presentation schedule is not finalized, topics may include issues such as recent updates to workers’ compensation laws, wage and hour issues, strategies for managing health insurance challenges, and workplace disputes around freedom of speech.
