About James C. Nemmers

Jim Nemmers is a patent attorney at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, P.L.C. and is the chair of the Firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. Jim’s work focuses on advising inventors on how to protect their ideas, and once protected, how to grant rights to others in return for compensation.  Jim also advises businesses on how to select and protect brand names used in the marketing of a product or service, including protecting domain names and websites.  Jim has represented numerous businesses and individuals in a variety of industries and technologies. For many years Jim was the adjunct professor for the Intellectual Property class at the University of Iowa College of Law.
